I should like to repeat that we do not make projections but discover elements in the outer world that are afterwards recognised as belonging to the inner psyche.
We don’t project on purpose; we fall into it, it happens and without it we would never be conscious (when the soul wishes to experience something he throws an image of the experience out before him and enters into his own image – Meister Eckhart)
for we cannot look directly into our own unconscious. It is, precisely, unconscious.
We only see it when it goes outward, so that a piece of the world becomes a mirror which shines it back to us.
But then we have to understand the mirror… try to work out what is happening.
So, while falling into projections is easy (it is literally a fall) the second bit is hard work, and very few do it.
